Hizbullah Establishes Drone Maintenance Workshop Near Homs, Syria, Opposition Website Reports

A Syrian opposition website reported on April 23, 2022 that Lebanese Hizbullah has established "a strategic military facility" near Homs, Syria. The fortified facility, run by experts from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), is a site for drone maintenance and repair work, and for the production of artillery shells, rockets, and mines. The establishment of these facilities comes as part of an Iranian effort to take advantage of Russia's war in Ukraine to entrench the hold of Tehran and the militias loyal to it in central and northeastern Syria.
