On June 3, 2019, a spokesperson of Hamas military wing Al-Qassam Brigades announced that the Al-Qassam Brigades would send out "hundreds of millions" of text messages to millions of people in the Arab and Muslim world as well as to the "free people of the world" explaining how to send funds to "the resistance and jihad" using Bitcoin.
