Facebook Suspends Page For Posting Instructions For Jihadis Seeking To Join Jabhat Al-Nusrah Via Turkey, Online Jihadi Republishes On Ansar Al-Mujahideen Arabic Forum (AMAF)

March 7, 2013

On March 6, 2013, Abu Turab Al-Sa'idi, a prominent member of Ansar Al-Mujahideen Arabic Forum (AMAF) announced that Facebook has suspended a page named "Hazimoun Fi Ard Al-Sham" Arabic for "Steady Men in the land of Sham" after posting instructions, tips, and directions for jihadis willing to join Jabhat Al-Nusrah in Syria via Turkey.

According to Al-Sa'idi, another reason for the page's suspension was publishing posts praising slain Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

When checking the group's page on Facebook, a message reads "Sorry, this page isn't available." Using Google's cache, the above mentioned post can be clearly seen below a picture of the current and former leaders of Al-Qaeda, Ayman Al-Zawahiri and Osama bin Laden.

Though mentioning that an account belonging to one of the mujahideen has also been suspended for posting details on how jihadis can get to Syria, Al-Sa'idi did not disclose the jihadi's name nor did he post link to the suspended page.
