British Pro-ISIS Preacher Organizes Social Media Campaign To Call For Release Of Imprisoned Moroccan-Belgian Jihadi Cleric

In an October 17, 2021 Telegram post, a British pro-Islamic State (ISIS) preacher implored "all Muslims" to join a social media campaign calling for the immediate release of jihadi cleric Fouad "Abu Imran" Belkacem from a Belgian prison.

Belkacem, of Moroccan-Belgian origin, is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence for his involvement with the a group which called for Belgium's conversion to an Islamic state, reportedly inspiring recruits to join ISIS. The British preacher posted several so-called press reports and infographics in Arabic, Dutch, English, Farsi, French, and Turkish, highlighting Belkacem's alleged plight.
