On September 1, 2017, Al-Shabab Telegram channels posted pictures of a small drone that was revealed in a public demonstration in Jilib, Somalia on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha festivities. This is the first time that Al-Shabab has revealed a drone. It appears to be an off-the-shelf Chinese-made mini-UAV of the DJI brand.
