Al-Qaeda In The Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) Leader Qassim Al-Rimi Calls On Syrians To Support The Mujahideen, Urges Fighters, Scholars To Shun The Internet

On November 2, 2019, the media arm of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), released a video which includes an audio statement by the group's leader Qassim Al-Rimi. In the statement, Al-Rimi praises the mujahideen and calls on them to obey their commanders; asks the Syrian people to support them, provide refuge for them, and receive them with open hearts; and tells scholars and mujahideen to shun the Internet, saying: "On it, many people have disrespected us and our scholars, and it has corrupted some of our finest men, and led [spies] to our secrets and allowed our enemies to mingle with us and attend our meetings... May Allah bless those who stay away from it."
