Al-Qaeda-Aligned Group In Gaza Solicits Tether Cryptocurrency Donations To Fund 'Jihad Against The Jews'

On July 25, 2024, the leader of Jaysh Al-Ummah, an Al-Qaeda aligned Salafi-jihadi group based in Gaza, shared a poster on his Telegram channel, which called for donations to fund "the jihad against the Jews." It depicted an armed fighter and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, alongside a poem encouraging supporters to make donations. The leader also provided a QR code and a cryptocurrency wallet address in a follow-up post on July 27. He noted: "To send your donations, send them via the USDT cryptocurrency. It is the only method that still works in the Gaza Strip."
