After Pro-Islamic State (ISIS) Telegram Channels Denounce Prominent Online Supporter, Anti-ISIS Channel Claims Organization's Central Media Has Lost Control Over Supporters

On September 11, 2022, a new pro-Islamic State (ISIS) Telegram channel launched a campaign against a Telegram user, using a special hashtag, with the aim of "revealing the specious claims and vile deeds of the one bearing this name in the field of support [for ISIS]." The detailed post described the history of the user's online activity in pro-ISIS circles.

The next day, two prominent pro-ISIS media groups joined the campaign against the user. Both posted an identical message, declaring that after investigation, it has become clear that the user is not a true ISIS supporter, and urging all supporters to ostracize and ignore him.

An anti-ISIS channel on the Al-Qaeda-operated Rocket.Chat server called the campaign against the user an "earthquake in the arena of support [for ISIS]."
