Official Qatari media outlets continue to unreservedly support the terror organization Hamas and to publish articles and cartoons comparing Israel to Nazi Germany and the Palestinians in Gaza to the Nazis' victims. At the same time, the Qatari government is involved in negotiations for the release of the hostages captured by Hamas, and it presents Hamas's positions at the negotiations table. This report will present several examples of cartoons and articles.
"Gaza – A Zionist Extermination Camp!"
On October 25, 2023, the Al-Sharq daily published a cartoon depicting the Gaza Strip as a "Zionist extermination camp." It showed Gazan civilians behind barbed wire, echoing the famous photo of Jewish inmates at Auschwitz.[1]

The London-based Qatari Al-Quds Al-Arabi published, on October 16, a cartoon presenting Israel's war against Hamas and its terrorist infrastructure as "collective destruction" and "genocide."[2]

Articles In Qatari Newspapers: Israel – Nazism In New Garb, The Greatest Nazi Force
Several articles in Qatari newspapers also compared Israel to the Nazis. An October 15, 2023 article in Al-Sharq by Qatari journalist A'isha Abedan, titled "Gaza And Neo-Nazism," referred to Israel as "Nazism in new garb."[3] A second article, by Qatari journalist Ibtesam Aal Sa'ad, described Israel as "the greatest Nazi force" and its campaign against Hamas as "the Nazi-Israeli war machine."[4]
Al-Jazeera Show Host: Netanyahu – A Hitler Who Is Burning The Palestinian Cause Like Auschwitz
Al-Jazeera show host Ghada Oueiss shared on her X (formerly Twitter) account a photo depicting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu morphing into Adolf Hitler, with the text: "How can you inflict the same torture that your own people suffered?"[5]
She also shared a cartoon from 2020 by Portuguese cartoonist Vasco Gargalo showing Netanyahu pushing a coffin wrapped in the Palestinian flag into a crematorium at Auschwitz.[6]
Israeli Propaganda Is Like Joseph Goebbels' Propaganda
In another post, Oueiss wrote that in addition to actual warfare, a media war is being waged against the Palestinians: "The Zionist propaganda machine is unwaveringly presenting an unprecedented number of lies that are constantly being spread by Israeli and Western media. [Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph] Goebbels is an amateur compared to them."[7]
