On August 30, 2012, Al-Masira TV, which is owned by the Al-Houthi movement, aired exclusive footage of the unloading of a U.S. Air Force plane inside Al-Anad Air Base, in Yemen's southern Lahj province, in a report titled "The American Aircraft at Al-Anad Airbase Are in the Viewfinder of Al-Masira's Cameras." The report stated that the channel had obtained the footage from a source inside the base.

Showing the massive walls surrounding the airbase, the report mostly criticized the intensive procedures taken by Yemeni authorities to secure the safety of U.S. aircraft.

"What is surprising is seeing what lies behind these walls and security preparations. Here we have the U.S. Air Force, which sometimes carries American soldiers and other times carries their equipment, [and these planes] never cease taking off and landing – transforming Al-Anad from a Yemeni airbase into an American airbase," the correspondent stated. He went on to explain how disappointing it was to see a U.S. military air plane receiving high security attention in Yemen, noting, "Here, then, [the high security measures are] not for the country, but for the occupiers."

It should be noted that on June 30, 2012, Al-Masira TV aired exclusive footage of U.S. troops in Port Salif, in western Yemen.[1]
