On August 5, 2011, the English-language jihadi forum Ansar Al-Mujahideen published an article about a Westerner, whose name it gave as Mustafa Al-Muhajir, who died in combat while fighting for Shabab Al-Mujahideen in Somalia. Apparently a Somali youth raised in the West, Mustafa Al-Muhajir was active on Ansar Al-Mujahideen and other jihadi websites and forums, where he cultivated his radical views before eventually joining Shabab Al-Mujahideen. According to the article, Al-Muhajir was killed by African Union and Somali government forces in Mogadishu.
