New Video Published On YouTube Features Two Assassins Of U.S. Diplomat Granville Explaining Their Escape From Maximum Security Prison In Sudan

On January 3, 2013, the Ansar Al-Mujahideen jihadi forum published the first part of a video featuring 'Abd Al-Basit Al-Hajj Al-Hassan Hajj Hammad and Muhammad Makawi Ibrahim Muhammad, who were among those implicated in the assassination of U.S. diplomat John Michael Granville and his driver in 2008 in Khartoum, Sudan. In the video, which was produced by the Al-Hijratayn Media Foundation, 'Abd Al-Basit and Makawi, who were recently designated terrorists by the U.S. State Department, explain in detail how they escaped from the Kobar maximum security prison, an operation they said was inspired by and similar to the 2011 Al-Mukalla Prison escape, in which dozens of AQAP operatives fled through a subterranean tunnel.
