It has long been evident that jihad fighters from various Arab countries are involved in the fight against Assad's forces in Syria, including Egyptian jihadis, some of them members of the Al-Jama'a Al-Islamiyya organization. Recently, it was reported that among the fighters are also Salafi-jihadi activists from Jordan, especially from the city of Ma'an in the south of the country.
