Taliban's Head For Martyrdom Operations In Badghis Province Assesses Strength Of Jihad In The Province, Gives Details Of Taliban Fighters

The website of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan recently published an interview of Mawlawi Abdul Qudoose, a Taliban commander in Afghanistan's Badghis province, who assessed the strength of jihad in the province and revealed details about the Taliban fighters.

Mawlawi Abdul Qudoose is a 28-year-old fighter from the province's Maqur district. He received his education in various madrassas (Islamic seminaries) of Afghanistan and Pakistan, according to a statement accompanying the interview.

"Mawlawi Abdul Qudoose is from amongst the very close associates of the founder of jihad against the Americans in Badghis province, Shaheed Mawlawi Dastageer. He is counted from the ones who began their sacred empty-handed jihad against the American invasion in Badghis in very early challenging stages," the statement noted.

Currently, Qudoose is in charge of the province's Daraboom district and is serving as the chief of explosives development and martyrdom operations for the whole province, according to the statement.

"In ... 2007, The Former Head Of Jihad In Badghis, Shaheed Mawlawi Dastageer and I Were Studying In Helmand Where We Also Took Part In Operations"; "Abdur Rahman Haqqani Had Recently Been Appointed As The Governor Of Badghis By The Islamic Emirate"

Question: "Dear honorable Mawlawi Sahib, before everything else, can you give us information about the rise of jihad in Badghis province? How and when did the Jihadi movement begin?"

Answer: "… To answer your question I must mention that when America began its invasion of Afghanistan, the Taliban lost their control over most of the northern provinces. So as in the rest of the country, gunmen and warlords also once again established their presence in Badghis and began terrorizing and persecuting its believing and mujahid people.
