Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has recently issued several threats to carry out attacks and assassinations. In addition to promising attacks if NATO supplies continue to pass through Pakistani tribal regions, it has threatened members of the secular Awami National Party (ANP) with death unless they quit the party. To this end, TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud has distributed funds to key commanders to finance attacks in Pakistan's Punjab province.
