In a recent statement, a little-known Afghan organization called Afghanistan Peace and Independence Front (APIF) has condemned a decision by the Loya Jirga to allow U.S. troops to remain in Afghanistan after 2014.
On November 16-19, 2011, about 2,000 Afghan elders from across the country participated in Loya Jirga (the grand meeting of elders) in Kabul, where it was decided to support the proposed Afghan-U.S. Strategic Partnership Agreement, which allows U.S. troops to be based in Afghanistan beyond 2014.
