EXCLUSIVE: ISIS Names American Among Suicide Bombers In Four Attacks

On August 19, 2015, the media office of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Salah Al-Din province announced that an American bomber named Abu Abdallah Al-Amriki was among the four suicide attackers who targeted Iraqi Army barricades near the city of Baiji. 

 

EXCLUSIVE: ISIS Recruiting Process Begins With Twitter Before Moving Elsewhere

ISIS recruiters, usually operating out of Syria, primarily use Twitter to establish initial connections with prospective group members. The most prominent recruiters are actual fighters; sometimes their wives will aid females seeking to emigrate to the Islamic State. There have also been Western recruiters in the U.S., England, and in other jihadi arenas such as Libya and Somalia. 

 

EXCLUSIVE: London Islamic Center For Women Promotes Radical Clerics On Facebook Page

A women's Islamic center based in Camden, London holds lectures, charity events, and holiday celebrations for members in the community. Along with promoting normal faith-based activities, including charity work for Syria, the group's Facebook page posted memes from the radical Birmingham-based group Invite to Islam, which has promoted ISIS. 

 

Al-Sahab Releases 7th Installment Of Al-Zawahiri's Reminiscences About Bin Laden

On August 15, 2015, Al-Qaeda's media wing Al-Sahab released the seventh part of the "Days with the Imam" video series, in which the organization's leader, Ayman Al-Zawahiri, reminisces about Osama bin Laden.

 

AQAP Offers Prize For Exposing American Spies, Calls On Members Yemeni Security Forces To Surrender And Be Pardoned

A communique issued on August 18, 2015 by the "political committee" of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) announces that any member of the Yemeni security forces who defects and surrenders to the mujahideen will be granted a pardon. The communique, disseminated via the Ansar Al-Sharia Twitter page, which is associated with AQAP, also offers a substantial monetary prize to anyone exposing an American spy.

 

AQ In West Africa Announces Appointment Of Mokhtar Belmokhtar As Its Emir, Pledges To Attack France And Its Allies Everywhere

In an official communique, Al-Murabitoun, Al-Qaeda's affiliate in West Africa and Mali, states that Khaled Abu Al-'Abbas, aka Mokhtar Belmokhtar, has been appointed emir of the organization. 

 

Pro-Jabhat Al-Nusra British Humanitarian Worker Aids Syrians; Eulogizes Prominent Dutch Fighter

An aid worker named Majid Freeman, based in Leicester, England is involved with distributing aid to Syrians suffering from the ongoing conflict.

 

British, Other Foreign Jabhat Al-Nusra Fighters Vow to Eradicate ISIS

On August 17, 2015, a video produced by the Jabhat Al-Nusra (JN) affiliate Al-Baseera Media was published on Al-Fida', a prominent Al-Qaeda forum. The video, titled "So the Way of the Criminals Will Become Clear," features three foreign fighters, two Arabs and a Briton, who accuse the Islamic State (ISIS) of being "Khawarij," talk about its alleged crimes against the mujahideen, and vow to eradicate it.

 

Abu Bakr Shekau, Leader Of Boko Haram, Which Recently Joined ISIS, Releases Statement To Refute Rumors Of His Death

An audio recording posted August 16, 2015 on the jihadi forum Al-Fidaa features an address by Abu Bakr Shekau, leader of Boko Haram , which recently joined ISIS and began referring to itself as the West Africa province of the Islamic State.

 

ISIS Claims Responsibility For Bombing Of Security Building In Cairo

On August 20, 2015, the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for that day's bombing of a security building in Cairo, saying that it was to avenge the killing of a group of mujahideen by security forces in March 2014. 

 

In New Video, ISIS Rallies Turkish People Against Their Government, Calls On Them To Support Islamic State 'Until We Conquer Constantinople'

On August 17, 2015, the Islamic State's Al-Raqqa province released a video message directed at Turkey. In it, ISIS denounces Turkish President Erdogan, and calls upon the Turkish people to rise up against him and against others as well, for what it says is their role in turning them into slaves of the Crusaders.

Urdu Daily: Afghan Taliban Leader Mullah Mansoor, Hizb-e-Islami Chief Gulbuddin Hekmatyar Sent Condolences On Death Of Former ISI Chief Hamid Gul

Mullah Akhtar Mansoor, the Emir of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban's shadow government), sent his condolences on the death of Hamid Gul, the former chief of the Pakistani military's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) who passed away on August 15.
