EXCLUSIVE: Pro-ISIS Twitter Accounts Allege That Popular American Jihadi Mujahid Miski Is Dead

On July 16, several pro-ISIS Twitter accounts are claiming that Mohamed Abdulluhi Hassan, aka Mujahid Miski, an American fighting with Al-Shabaab in Somalia, has died. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear.

Hassan, from Minneapolis, Minnesota, operated one of the most popular pro-ISIS Twitter accounts; he posted many tweets calling on Muslims in the West to launch attacks, and exploited the unrest in Ferguson, MO and other racial issues to recruit individuals to wage jihad. He was also reportedly in contact with Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi before they launched their attack in Garland, Texas, on May 3, 2015.

 

EXCLUSIVE: AQAP, ISIS Supporters Exchange Accusations Over Mission, Affiliation Of Executed Saudi Spy

On June 17, 2015, Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) announced the execution of two of its Saudi members, Naef Al-Mutairi and Musai'd Al-Khuwaiter. The two were accused of spying for Saudi Arabia, by implanting chips to lead U.S. drones to target senior AQAP commanders and officials - at least five of whom have been killed in the past few months.

The execution, according to Hafeed Al-Rubaish, an AQAP supporter who is active on Twitter, took place at a beach in the southern city of Al-Mukalla, Yemen, where AQAP official Nasr Al-Ansi was killed in a drone strike. Little is known about Al-Mutairi, who journeyed with Al-Khuwaiter to Yemen, other that he was from the city of Qassim, Saudi Arabia. Al-Khuwaiter was well-known, also under the names Hammam Al-Humaid, Husam Al-Khaldi, Fares Al-Qasimi, and Ayman Mahmoud.

 

EXCLUSIVE: French ISIS Suicide Bomber Stresses ISIS Victory, Promises French President Hollande Defeat And Humiliation

On July 11, 2015, the Al-Furat province of the Islamic State (ISIS) released a four-minute-long video message featuring the martyrdom will of French suicide bomber Kevin Chassin (aka Abu Maryam Al-Faransi), who in May 2015 blew himself up at an Iraqi army post near the city of Haditha. The attack was part of a double suicide bombing; the other bomber was French jihadi Abu Abdelaziz. A nasheed [chant] in French calling for Muslims to join ISIS is played in the background.

On July 16, 2015, the Islamic State (ISIS) Al-Anbar province released a video featuring Abu Waliyya Al-Faransi, a French ISIS operative, carrying out a suicide attack in the town of Al-Nukhaib in southern Iraq.

 

ISIS Posts Terms Of Women's Dress Code On Street Ads

On July 15, 2015, the Islamic State (ISIS) in Tripoli, Libya, published a photo report about its efforts to plaster the streets of Sirte with posters containing religious materials. One of these posters addresses women's Islamic dress code. The poster, which was titled "Terms Of Islamic Veil," includes seven points describing women's Islamic dress code. In April 2015, ISIS in Mosul had made a similar poster. According to the poster, the terms are:

1.      It should be thick, non-transparent.

ISIS Takes Responsibility For Attack On Egyptian Military Frigate In Mediterranean Sea

On July 16, 2015, the Islamic State (ISIS) released a statement taking responsibility for an attack on an Egyptian military frigate in the Mediterranean Sea. "In a blessed operation  the [Islamic State] mujahideen managed to target a frigate of the apostate Egyptian Navy forces in the Mediterranean Sea north of Rafah via a guided missile," noted the statement. It further claimed that the vessel was completely destroyed, and all of those onboard were killed.

 

Saudi ISIS Operatives Exhort Saudis To Kill Shi'ites In The Country

On July 14, 2015, the Islamic State (ISIS) Aleppo province released a video featuring several Saudi men addressing Sunnis in Saudi Arabia. The men's message is aimed at inciting Saudis against the Shi'ite population in the country, inter alia calling upon them to bear arms and to kill the Shi'ites indiscriminately.

 

ISIS Claims Responsibility For Car Bomb Attack On Italian Consulate In Cairo

On July 10, 2015, the Islamic State published a communiqu├® on jihadi forums claiming responsibility for the detonation of a car bomb earlier that day near the Italian consulate in Cairo. It should be noted that the communiqu├® was published on behalf of the organization as a whole, not by one of its "provinces" in Sinai or Libya.

 

ISIS Threatens Algeria With 'Long-Term' War, Praises Newly Joined Groups

On July 14, 2015, Al-Raqqah media office of the Islamic State (ISIS) released a video in which two fighters vowed to fight a "long-term war" against the government in Algeria, praised ISIS groups there, called on other jihadi groups to swear fealty to the Caliph Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, and urged soldiers and security officers to repent.

 

Jordan Tightens Security Procedures In Wake of ISIS Attacks In Tunisia, Kuwait

According to the London-based Saudi daily Al-Hayat, authorities in Jordan have implemented extra security measurements at the entrances of the capital of Amman as well as in remote cities, in anticipation of terrorist attacks.

 

Issue X Of ISIS's English-Language Magazine 'Dabiq' - A General Review

On July 13, 2015, the Islamic State (ISIS) media group Al-Hayat released the 10th issue of its English-language magazine Dabiq. The magazine was distributed via the Shumoukh Al-Islam forum and via pro-ISIS Twitter accounts.

Issue 10 of the English-language Islamic State (ISIS) magazine Dabiq features a fatwa that cites the Prophet Muhammad and his companions, as well as works by Islamic jurists, in arguing that Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Muhammad Omar's claim as caliph of the Muslim Ummah is invalid under Islamic shari'a.

It should be mentioned that Mullah Omar is considered Emir-ul-Momineen (leader of the believers, or caliph) by all factions of the Taliban in Pakistan and Afghanistan, as well as by all Al-Qaeda affiliates worldwide. Even Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden had given his bai'yah (oath of fealty) to him. Currently, some militants loyal to ISIS are fighting against Taliban jihadis in Afghanistan.

 

ISIS Magazine 'Dabiq' Issue 10: 'This Is Ramadan!... Jihad, Battles And Action'

The 10th issue of the Islamic State (ISIS) English language magazine Dabiq features an article hailing Ramadan as the month of battles, victories and waging jihad. The article recalls the battles that according to Muslim tradition occurred during the month of Ramadan during the Prophet Muhammad's era. These victories, the article claims, illustrate the importance of waging jihad during the holy month and immigrating to the Islamic State to join the jihad.

 

ISIS Magazine 'Dabiq' Issue 10: 'March Forth And Wage War Against The Crusaders And Apostates'

On July 13, 2015 the Islamic State (ISIS) media group Al-Hayat that targets a Western audience released the tenth issue of their English language magazine Dabiq. It was distributed via the Twitter accounts of ISIS militants.

Jihadi Commanders Wonder Whether Afghan Taliban Leader Mullah Omar Is Still Alive: 'Mullah Omar Is Not In This World Now'; We Never Found Mullah Omar 'In 13 Years Of Jihad'

According to a jihadi media report, several jihadi commanders based in Afghanistan have expressed the view that Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Muhammad Omar may not be alive.

 

Jihadi Tech Group Releases Upgrade To Its Android App For Secure Communication

On July 8, 2015, the Al-Fajr Technical Committee (FTC), a group of tech-savvy jihadis, announced a new version of its Android app 'Amn Al-Mujahid. The app allows jihadis to communicate securely, and uses public key cryptography.   The new version, V1.1, comes a year after the FTC first released its secure communication app for Android. The app follows a desktop version released in December 2013.
