Special Dispatch No.5012
Today, Facebook Removes Hizbullah Pages – Following MEMRI Series On Hizbullah Facebook Activity

MEMRI's series of articles on Hizbullah's Facebook activity and its multiple Facebook pages was followed by Facebook's August 2012 removal of Hizbullah and Al-Manar pages; MEMRI's activity against Hizbullah's social media activities has been reported by the Lebanese media.

Following this removal of the previous Hizbullah and Al-Manar TV Facebook pages, and after vowing to return to Facebook, Hizbullah created two new Facebook pages for its Al-Manar TV, as MEMRI reported on August 22, 2012.

Last night, Facebook removed these two new Hizbullah Al-Manar TV pages, as well as a page belonging to Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah. This latter page, while it was created in October 2011, has never been shut down; its removal is a new move for Facebook.

MEMRI is continuing to monitor Hizbullah as it creates new Facebook pages.[1]

Removed: Hizbullah Al-Manar TV Facebook Pages

One of the Hizbullah Al-Manar Facebook pages removed last night was for news from Al-Manar TV (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Al-manaronline-news/510136715679603) and the other was for Al-Manar TV programming (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Al-manaronline-programs/420001361369450). At the time of their removal, these pages together had over 1,000 "likes."

Removed For The First Time: Hizbullah Leader Nasrallah's Facebook Page

Also removed was the "Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah" Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sayyed-Hassan-Nasrallah/226297517432834), created October 21, 2011. At the time of its removal it had nearly 3,000 "likes." Facebook has not previously removed this page.

The very first post on this page, dated October 21, 2011, stated in English: "O Allah, Please Clean This World From Jewish Contamination." The following are some other posts from the page:
