On May 2, 2012, the main jihadi forums Shumoukh Al-Islam and Al-Fida' became inactive. By 12:30 pm ET, they were once again accessible, and Issues No. VIII and IX of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula's (AQAP's) English-language jihadi magazine Inspire were posted.
In 2010, the British government attempted to block the release of the summer issue of Inspire by corrupting the file, forcing the organization to rerelease the issue.
MEMRI will be releasing a series of reports from Issues VII and IX of Inspire.
