February 13, 2012 Special Dispatch No.4489 Report: Indian Mujahideen Members Met With Osama Bin Laden, Were Connected To Al-Qaeda In Pakistan A probe into the July 13, 2011 bomb blasts in Mumbai reveals that some members of the "Indian Mujahideen" were connected to Al-Qaeda and other jihadist organizations based in Pakistan, according to an Indian website. The Indian Mujahideen (IM) is a terror group that emerged in mid-2000s and is widely believed to have been working as a front organization for Pakistan-based jihadist organizations such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Muhammad. According to a report on the website of an Indian daily, an officer of Mumbai's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) said, "IM has managed to strike a strong rapport with terror groups based in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and some of its leaders have direct links with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Muhammed and even Al-Qaeda to an extent."
