Recently, a jihadist internet forum released two issues of an Urdu-language magazine published by the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU), a terrorist organization based in the Pakistani tribal region.
The magazine is named Ghazwa-e-Hind (the Battle of India), a battle forecast in one of the sayings of Prophet Muhammad which is frequently quoted by jihadist organizations in Pakistan.
The two issues released are numbered 5 and 6, respectively for November and December 2011. The following are excerpts from two articles in the magazine's issue Number 5:
"It is the Duty of Muslims to Threaten the Enemies of Islam, and If These Enemies Call Our Mujahideen 'Terrorists' Then It is a Matter of Pride That They are Afraid of Our Lions"
In an article titled "Terrorist – Honor, Not Crime," the magazine argued that being labelled "terrorist" is an honor for the Islamic forces, and not a crime. It said that enemies of Islam have given various such names to the waging of jihad in the path of Allah due to the fact that most of the words today have changed their meaning, e.g. leaving jihad is being taken as prudence and wisdom.
The article's author, Mufti Abuzar Azzam, argues that earlier mujahideen were termed orthodox or fundamentalists, but "today they are being described as terrorist because the meaning of words is changing and a lie is being taken in the meaning of truth, and hypocrisy as strategy."
He added: "It is the duty of Muslims to threaten the enemies of Islam, and if these enemies call our mujahideen 'terrorists,' then it is a matter of pride that they are afraid of our lions."
The article argues while discussing the meaning of "terrorist" that Allah has granted permission to terrorize anyone, and it further explores the verses in this regard from the Koran and the sayings of Prophet Mohammad.
Koran's Chapter Tauba Verse No. 123 Says: "O You Who Believe! Fight Against Those of the Infidels Who are Close to You and Let Them See Harshness in You..."
Following are excerpts from the article by Mufti Abuzar Azzam:[1]
"Allah has said in [Koran's] Chapter Anfal (Verse No. 60), 'Threaten the infidels by being prepared for jihad; threaten the enemies of Allah and your enemy'… and it has been said in Chapter Tauba, Verse No. 123: 'O you who believe! Fight against those of the infidels who are close to you and let them see harshness in you...' In Chapter Fatah, Verse No. 29, Allah has described the Prophet Muhammad and his companions in these words: 'harsh against the infidels and merciful among themselves….'"
"The summary of these verses is that it is the duty of Muslims to threaten the enemies of Islam, and if these enemies call our mujahideen 'terrorists,' then it is a matter of pride that they are afraid of our lions.
"It is a matter of pride that the thing [i.e. the description as terrorist] that the enemy has used as an abuse and has launched propaganda in the world regarding this is [in fact] the order of Allah, of our beloved Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
"In reference to the idolaters of Mecca, the Prophet had said, 'Swear by Allah, I have come to butcher you….'

"It should be noted that 706 Jews of Banu Quraiza tribe were butchered on the Prophet's order. Therefore, by killing the infidels we must give testimony of our love to Allah and His messenger."
"O Muslims… Attack Them Like the Falcon; Attack Them Repeatedly Like Lions; Turn Their Banks Into War Booty"
"If your enemies do not fear you and if your terror does not register on the opposition, then you must accept it that you have become weak. One example illustrates this: a spy fears when he sees a Taliban…
"Nowadays, there is so much pressure from the U.S. and its media on Muslims to declare mujahideen as terrorists, that those [Muslims] who have nothing to do with jihad don't get tired of issuing denial after denial that 'we are not terrorists.' Would the enemies be afraid of the people who avoid jihad…?
"Those who have the capability to bomb the London [metro], they are lions, not rats. Those under whose terror the world of infidels trembles…
"O Muslims! Do not care about the taunts and blame of the infidels and their servants. Attack them like the falcon; attack them repeatedly like lions; turn their banks into war booty for this is our money; teach lessons to their courts, lawyers and judges who are guardians of the English laws against the laws of Prophet Muhammad…
"Assassinate their parliamentarians and senators who protest on the diesel price hike [e.g. in Pakistan] but keep mum over the bloodshed of Muslim children; slaughter all their administration – police, Levies [Pakistani paramilitary force], stake holders, all security agencies and militia…; take out the brains of the Satanic journalists…
"You have to settle the score of what… [the journalists] did to the immigrant [mujahideen] and the helpers [local mujahideen]. If they are weak today, it does not mean that they should be forgiven. They would be counted one among the enemies unless they leave government services…."
"Mujahideen from All Over the World have Gathered… [in Waziristan] for the Glory of Allah"
Following are excerpts from an article titled "Living in Mecca but Deprived of Hajj" – written by Irshad Ahmad:[2]
"There is a famous adage that one remains deprived of performing Hajj while living in Mecca. The very name of Mecca brings Hajj to one's mind. People from every part of the world go there to perform the obligation of Hajj, still there are some people who have been living in Mecca for 30-40 years and they are deprived of even performing Umrah [mini-Hajj], nevermind Hajj. For such a person it can only be said that he has crossed all the limits of deprivation.
"Similar is the situation in Waziristan. The very name [of Waziristan] reminds people of the word 'jihad', and every true Momin [faithful Muslim] thinks: 'When will I go to jihad so that I wage jihad in the path of Allah!' This is no fiction, but it is a fact today that jihad has become an essential obligation; the hills or woods, barren lands or markets, cities or villages of Waziristan are filled with the mujahideen of Islam like the way Mecca gets filled by the Hajj pilgrims at the time of Hajj.
"These mujahideen from all over the world have gathered here for the glory of Allah's Kalima [i.e. There is no deity, but Allah] and are showing practical example of '[being] harsh against infidels and merciful among themselves.' And they, like the ferocious storm, are after the Jews, Christians, and their faithful dogs and their salaried, kept, and defiled [Pakistani] troops, apostate rulers, and secret agencies to the extent that these apostates could not come out for a second without imposing curfew (all praise to Allah).
"In spite of this jihadi environment of Waziristan, you would find it strange to listen to it that there is a large section of people (general public and Ulema [Islamic clerics]) who are deprived of jihad, as some of the people in Mecca remain deprived of Hajj. And the reason for this deprivation is only thoughtlessness and lust for wealth.
"I make a plea to these Muslim brethren that you see it as a routine that people from far-off lands throughout the world migrate to Waziristan and get martyred; every child of Waziristan is aware of their fragrance of martyrdom. And these martyrs get their place in Jannah [paradise]. Then why do you remain deprived of this inexpensive bargain of Jannah despite living in Waziristan, and why are you showing negligence to jihad and its support?"
Prophet Muhammad Said: 'One Who Waged Jihad in the Path of Allah Even for a Period of Milking a Camel, Paradise Becomes Mandatorily Available to Him'
"Indeed, there is no doubt in it that many self-respecting Muslims are found at fronts fighting along with the muhajir brothers [i.e. immigrant jihadist fighters], shoulder to shoulder, and their chests are adorned with the medals of martyrdom, injuries, and imprisonment. Waziristan is showing the environment of Ansar-o-Muhajireen [the local supporters in Medina and the migrants led Prophet Mohammad], but they are less in number. May Allah increase them in number and make them steadfast. (Amen!)
"As narrated by Hazrat Maaz bin Jabal (RA), Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: 'One who waged jihad in the path of Allah even for a period of milking a camel, paradise becomes mandatorily available to him; and one who wishes for martyrdom with purity of heart - he gets the reward of martyrs whether he dies a natural death or gets killed. And if one gets a wound in the path of Allah, the wound would remain fresh as though it has been inflicted only today and its color would be like saffron and fragrance like musk' (Abu Dawood, Nasai [Islamic authoritative sources]).
"Similarly, it has come in another saying of Prophet Muhammad: 'Jihad is the shortest route to heaven.' It is mentioned in the Holy Koran: 'Verily, Allah has purchased of the believers their lives and their properties for (the price) that theirs shall be the Paradise. They fight in Allah's Cause, so they kill (others) and are killed. It is a promise in truth which is binding on Him in the Taurat [Torah] and the Injeel [Gospel] and the Koran. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah? Then rejoice in the bargain which you have concluded. That is the supreme success.' (Chapter Tauba, Verse No. 111)
"These virtues are those who do jihad. And for those who don't do jihad, it is said [in the Koran]: 'Say: If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your kindred, the wealth you have, the commerce in which you fear a decline, and the dwellings in which you delight are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger, and striving hard and fighting in His Cause, then wait until Allah brings about His Decision (torment). And Allah guides not the people who are disobedient.' Surah Tauba, Verse No. 24"
"Plunge into the Field of Jihad and Purchase Your Paradise; Allah Says: 'O Believers! Kill Among the Infidels Those Who are Near You'"
"Today, all prisons of the world are filled with our Muslim brothers and sisters. Have we done anything for their release? Would there be any answer from us before Allah on the Day of Judgment? Indeed, we have no answer.
"Therefore, fear Allah and plunge into the field of jihad and purchase your paradise. Allah says [in the Koran]: 'O believers! Kill among the infidels those who are near you.' The fronts or camps of these defiled [Pakistani] troopers are so near to us [in the Pakistani tribal region] that we can break their heads by just throwing a stone, Allah willing.
"Apostates are the worst kind of infidels. Therefore, jihad against those apostates is extremely important and necessary. Imam Sarkhusi has written in his book, Mabsoot: 'These apostates are worst kind of infidels because they denied [Islam] after acceptance (Mabsoot Kitabus-Sayar, Majmaul-Anhar Sharha Multaqiul-Abhar, Ahkam-ul-Jihad).
"Similarly, it is the fatwa [Islamic decree] by Ibn-e-Taymiyya that fighting against apostates is far better than fighting against the real infidels (Majma-ul-Fatawa).
"O the self-respecting Muslims of Waziristan! A great jihad is underway in your area; please value this opportunity; vie with each other in supporting the immigrants [foreign jihadists] and in waging Jihad and in getting martyrdom. Indeed, Allah does not give this opportunity to all. May Allah grant us guidance to practice! Amen."
