On October 25, 2011, the insurgent group Ansar Al-Shari'a, which has been involved in fighting in Yemen, published the first issue of its newsletter, dated September 2011. The newsletter, which was produced by the "Madad news agency" and distributed in PDF format on the Al-Qaeda-affiliated forum Al-Fidaa, features brief reports on the group's ongoing battles against the Yemeni army. The lead item states that Ansar Al-Shari'a has adopted a new tactic of capturing towns and then retreating from them in order to lure the army forces back in and then fight them. It also reports that the group has seized heavy weapons from the army, including heavy machine guns, anti-aircraft guns, and even armored vehicles and tanks. An Ansar Al-Shari'a field commander promises that the fighting will spread from the Zinjibar area to the major city of Aden.
