AQAP Releases Seventh Issue Of 'Inspire' Magazine, Commemorating 9/11

On September 27, 2011, Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula's (AQAP) media wing Al-Malahem released the seventh issue of its English-language jihadi magazine, Inspire.

Note to government and media – for a copy of the full issue of Inspire 7, please send an email to memri@memri.org with "Inspire 7" in the subject line.

The following is an overview:

Issue No. 7 of Inspire, which at 20 pages is shorter than previous issues, includes two lead articles. One, by the magazine's editor-in-chief, Yahya Ibrahim, is titled "The Greatest Operation of All Time," and the second, by U.S. citizen Samir Khan, is titled "The Media Conflict."

The issue also includes an article by Abu Suhail asking why Iran supported the notion that 9/11 was not carried out by Al-Qaeda but by the U.S. government itself, as well as announcements of an upcoming exclusive interview with American Al-Qaeda operative Adam Gadahn and an article by U.S.-born radical cleric Anwar Al-Awlaki titled "Targeting the Populations of Countries that are at War with the Muslims."

The issue concludes with a new encrypted key to be used when communicating with AQAP.

MEMRI will be releasing further reports on Issue 7 of Inspire shortly.
