Salafi-Jihadi websites, including Al-Fida and Shumoukh Al-Islam, have posted a one-hour audio address by Abu Muhammad Al-'Adnani, the official spokesman of the Al-Qaeda-affiliated organization Islamic State of Iraq (ISI). In the message, titled "The Islamic State Will Endure," Al-'Adnani urges the Sunnis to join the jihad and not to take part in political action that will result in a Shi'ite takeover of Iraq. He also threatens the Sahwa (tribal forces that are cooperating with the American and Iraqi forces against Al-Qaeda), saying that they will be killed unless they repent and join the mujahideen. Addressing the mujahideen themselves, he urges them to prepare for the return of the glorious days of Mus'ab Al-Zarqawi, and promises those in prison that every effort will be made to liberate them.
The recording, dated August 1, 2011 (the first day of Ramadan), was produced by the ISI's media company Al-Furqan. ...
