The sixth issue of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP)'s English-language magazine, Inspire, released on July 19, 2011, contained a section devoted to responses to e-mail enquiries, including questions relating to the protests in the Arab world.
A reader named Khalid asked whether Al-Qaeda was, in fact, irrelevant to the Muslim masses: "Many Western analysts – such as [CNN's] Fareed Zakaria – assert that the protesters want jobs, better living conditions, justice, etc., and not a global caliphate. They thus conclude that Al-Qaeda is irrelevant to the Muslim masses. What do you have to say?"
