Following is an excerpt from a speech delivered by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, which aired on the Iranian news channel IRINN on June 24, 2011.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: "There is a great similarity between the 9/11 incident and the Holocaust. Two years after the U.S. administration used this pretext to invade two countries - killing, wounding, and displacing millions of people, and causing poverty and backwardness among the people of the region - it appointed a group, due to the pressure of public opinion, to investigate the reasons [for 9/11]. But even after ten years, the facts are kept a secret from the American people and from the entire world.
"Some people believe that the goal of 9/11 was to give the fictitious Zionist regime some room to breathe, in order to increase the insecurity of the countries of the region, to divert American public opinion from the unstable economic situation, and of course, to fill the pockets of the warmongering and uncultured capitalists.
"If the black boxes of the Holocaust and of 9/11 are opened, much evidence will come to light. We regret very much that despite all the international demands, the U.S. administration has not yet granted permission to do so."
