Senior Writer on Jihadi Website Recommends Kidnapping Westerners All Over the World Until U.S. Unmanned Aircraft Attacks in Yemen Cease

On June 17, the jihadi website Shumoukh Al-Islam posted an article by a "senior writer" calling himself 'Abdallah bin Muhammad; in it, he set out his ideas for neutralizing the new U.S. strategy of using unmanned aircraft attacks against the mujahideen in Yemen. These included:

• Concealment and deception - disrupting frequencies used for guiding unmanned aircraft; relocating jihad headquarters frequently; using underground levels as hideouts and maintaining electronic silence to evade attacks; and having commanders and wanted men refrain from using communications devices.

• Deterrence methods against spies and collaborators.

• Cultivating public opinion in the Arab and Islamic street against the attacks, and possibly expanding the effort to include the Pakistani street and even the Islamic street in the U.S.

'Abdallah bin Muhammad then added that there was a "golden solution" in store for the West - the kidnapping of Westerners across the world, to be released only if the attacks in Yemen ceased. U.S. public opinion would oppose the attacks, he said, once they saw themselves in the crosshairs. ...
