Fadl Ahmed bin Abdul Samad is the deputy official for the Taliban's jihadist activities in Afghanistan's Badakhshan province. Fadl Ahmed was born in Khashak Nadi village of the province's Kishim district. In a recent interview with the official website of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban's shadow government), Fadl Ahmed gave details about the Taliban's influence in the province.
In the interview, he also talked about how he joined the Islamic Emirate, stating: "I finished the early stage of my education in my village, and then I began to learn shari'a sciences, spending one year studying between my village and the district center at Kishim. I subsequently transferred abroad to Pakistan and spent eight years in different madrassas."
