A jihadi website has posted a fatwa permitting mujahideen to target companies controlled by infidels, such as Coca-Cola and McDonald's.

Senior Salafi ideologue Abu Muhammad Al-Maqdisi's jihadi website Al-Minbar Wal-Tawhid posted a fatwa permitting mujahideen to target companies owned by infidels, such as Coca-Cola and McDonald's, claiming that in the absence of a present-day caliphate, infidels were not considered dhimmis (persons protected by Islamic law) but enemy combatants.
