The following is the 44th edition of the MEMRI Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor (JTTM) Weekly Digest. It includes exclusive reports and items from the past week on Jihadist websites.
THE WEEK IN JIHAD
There were numerous developments in the global jihad over the past week, but it is worth beginning with a wrap-up of the situation with the jihadist web forums, which we discussed in detail last week. The Al-Falluja forum, after some hesitation, apparently decided to shut down after all. To recap, the cause of its demise was that it lost the confidence of Al-Qaeda's distributor, the Al-Fajr Media Center. This leaves only one forum, Shumukh Al-Islam, as a station of first delivery for all Al-Qaeda materials. In other words, if someone were to take down Shumukh, Al-Qaeda would be silenced – at least until it could find alternate channels of delivery.
