In a new video released by Al-Qaeda's media company Al-Sahab, Maulana Waliur Rahman, the Emir of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP, or the Movement of Pakistani Taliban) for the Mehsud tribal region in the Pakistani tribal district of South Waziristan, vows to fight against Pakistan and the U.S. in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region. He justifies attacks on the Pakistani Army, saying that it has been strengthening the U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan. He also rejects media reports that Mullah Omar, the chief of the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan, has asked the Taliban fighters not to attack the Pakistani forces.
