Popular English-Language Jihadist Forum: We Hope Other Muslims in the U.S. Army Will Take Nidal Hasan as a Role Model

The moderators of the English-language section of the Ansar Al-Mujahideen forum issued a communiqué on November 24, 2009 in praise of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan. The primary, Arabic-language section of Ansar Al-Mujahideen is an important second-tier forum; its English-language section is the most popular salafi-jihadi forum in English.

The communiqué aimed in particular to defend Hasan's actions against the condemnations that have been voiced by Muslim associations in the U.S. The English in the communiqué is generally good, but is clearly influenced by Arabic syntax, e.g. use of the preposition "from" where one would expect in English "among"; we have left the text as is, apart from occasional explanatory additions in brackets. Following is the text of the communiqué, which is titled "A Statement regarding the Events at Ft. Hood, TX":

"May Allah Reward You Brother Nidal"

"In the Name of Allah. All praise is due to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family, companions, and those who follow his footsteps till the day of Judgment.

"To proceed:

"We issue this statement in support of the actions of brother Nidal Malik Hassan; as a congratulations for his brave and heroic deed, as well as the jealousness he displayed for the pains suffered by the Muslim Ummah [nation] as a result of the modern Zionist-Christian Crusades against it. May Allah reward you brother Nidal. We ask Allah to accept this great feat of yours and make you an example for others to follow.
