Frankfurt-Based Syrian Activist Dr. Malik Fndy: "This Is Why I Support the Islamic State"

Dr. Malik Fndy, a Syrian from the Dar'a area who lives in Germany, posted a video on the Internet in which he explains his support for the Islamic State (ISIS). In the video, posted on January 7, Dr. Fndy claims that the Islamic State is the only state to implement Islamic law. He criticizes Middle Eastern regimes and sub-state entities, calling them "pigs" and accusing them of collaborating with "the infidels." He accuses Western media of distorting the image of the Islamic State by not publishing their original and complete videos, where the reasoning behind the stoning of a woman or the burning of Jordanian pilot Moaz Kasasbeh, for example, is explained.

Dr. Fndy identifies himself in his social media accounts as a Syrian from Karak, near Dar'a, who moved to Germany to study mathematics at Darmstadt University of Technology. A 2012 Facebook post by the Coordination Committee of the Syrian Activists in Aid and Media in Germany describes Dr. Fndy as "very active in coordinating demonstrations, responsible for collecting donations for Dar'a, and [with] good media activity."

Dr. Malik Fndy: "The first point that I would like to discuss is the reason for the emergence of the Islamic State, and the second point is why I, a simple Muslim, support the Islamic State and defend it.

"The Sunni Muslims in Syria and Iraq are being annihilated in a methodological and highly tactical fashion. Basically, it is America, the figurehead of heresy, that is responsible for that, along with its lackeys in the region.

[...]

"I would like to tell you why I support the Islamic State.

[...]

"About two years ago, when the Islamic State entered Syria, it became relevant to me and to any Syrian. Like everybody else, I began to hear... When videos were published, you would see them beheading people, lashing people, stoning people, killing people in any old way. They are famous for having multiple killing methods. As I was watching these videos, I said to myself: 'What are they doing?!' And they shout 'Allah Akbar' and say that they are doing it in the name of Islam... And, of course, they also cut off the hands of thieves.

[...]

"America and the world's countries joined forces to fight the Islamic State. Saudi Arabia and some other Arab countries, whose rulers, I'm sad to say, are worse than pigs... The rulers of all the Arab countries are worse than pigs, headed by the Saudi Salul clan. They all ganged up against the Islamic State.

[...]

"I am not an expert on shari'a who can say whether [ISIS] is right or wrong, but I was convinced that if America turned against a group of Muslims, these Muslims must be in the right.

[...]

"Whenever a video was released by the Islamic State, all I would see was shouts of 'Allah Akbar' at the beginning, and the beheading of someone. Then more shouts of 'Allah Akbar,' and the video was over.

[...]

"I began to go on websites of Islamic State supporters, on Facebook, Twitter, regular websites... I began surfing there. I saw the videos and releases, which are posted on the websites watched by all the people. It turned out that they were not the same. The videos on the regular sites are excerpts from the original videos by the Islamic State.

[...]

"Take, for example, the video of Jordanian pilot Moaz Al-Kasasbeh, who was burned alive by the Islamic State. If you watch the video on YouTube, you only see the moment of his killing. You see them light the gasoline leading to Al-Kasasbeh's cage, and then you see the fire closing in, until it burns him. And then you see a bulldozer covering Al-Kasasbeh with rubble. But when I watched the original video, I saw who Moaz Al-Kasasbeh was. At the beginning of the video, they provide a full explanation, and there's a video of Al-Kasasbeh himself talking. They say: 'This is Moaz Al-Kasasbeh, and he dropped bombs on Muslims, burned people...' and there are images of burnt people. Civilians were killed there – women, men, elderly people, and children. They showed people who were burned by the bombs, which are tested only in our region, only on Muslims. They manufacture these weapons, and they need guinea pigs. By means of the Muslims, they burn Muslims. They showed how whatshisname burned people, how he demolished their homes with them inside, and they even showed someone's burnt hand sticking out from under the rubble.

"Therefore, and in accordance with the shari'a, Al-Kasasbeh needs to be punished in the same way that he tormented others. Thus, because he had burned people, they burned him too, and because he had demolished people's home with them inside, they piled the rubble from these homes on him. They didn't even include the Islamic State's threat to Jordanian pilots.

"In another video, you see them stoning a woman. People began to say: 'ISIS is stoning pious Muslim women.' This is what you see on YouTube. But in the original video, you see that the girl's father was there, and they read out a message saying: 'This girl committed adultery. This has been proven, and she herself has admitted it. Her father is here, as a witness,' and so on and so forth. Therefore, the punishment according to the shari'a is execution by stoning. You can see the complete video on the [pro-ISIS] websites.

[...]

"The meaning of this is that they do not want to allow complete information from the Islamic State to reach the Muslims, so that they will not join the Islamic State or support it, and they will continue to support the pigs ruling the Arab and Islamic countries.

[...]

"[ISIS] are in the right, I say, because they rule by the shari'a of our Lord. Do you know what that means? It means implementing the punishments of Allah. If you really want... Many people say: 'I want an Islamic state, but not like that...' What do you mean 'not like that'?! Do you want an Islamic state after your own heart?!

[...]

"Oh Allah, please wreak vengeance upon the Salul clan. Allah willing, oh Salul clan, we will tread on your skulls in the land of Mecca, Allah willing.

[...]

"With the Islamic State, there is no such thing as appeasing the infidels. The Islamic State implements the shari'a of our Lord in its entirety, but Saudi Arabia, the rest of the Islamic countries, and even most of the Free Syrian Army, which is on Syrian soil – none of these implement the shari'a of our Lord. They appease the infidels, they are funded by the infidels, and their goal is to annihilate the Sunni Muslims. By God, their goal is to annihilate the Sunni Muslims. People, we should think this out and realize that this is inconceivable. We should rethink this and ask ourselves what the goal of the Islamic State is. By Allah, their only goal is for the banner of Islam to reign supreme.

[...]

"I pray for Allah to have mercy upon us and to accept us in Paradise. I pray for Him to guide us to the right path, and to support our brothers, the mujahideen in Syria and Iraq, and first and foremost, the soldiers of the Islamic State, of the Caliphate, led by the revered sheikh, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi Al-Qurashi. Assalaam Alaykum. Allah's Mercy and blessings upon you."
