Following are excerpts from a report on a delegation of Australian Muslims to the Gaza Strip, which aired on Al-Aqsa TV on December 26, 2012:

Reporter: Delegations of solidarity continue to arrive in Gaza. An Australian delegation of sheiks and scholars, headed by the Mufti of Australia, Dr. Ibrahim “Abu Muhammad,” met the [Hamas] prime minister, and expressed their joy at arriving in Gaza.

Sheik Ibrahim Salem, Mufti of Australia: We came here in order to learn from Gaza. As I said in my speech, we will make the stones, trees, and people of Gaza talk, in order to learn steadfastness, sacrifice, and the defense of one’s rights from them. We feel like we are on cloud nine. We feel like we are on top of the world.

Reporter: The Australian delegation visited the Ministry of Islamic Endowments, and met with religious scholars and sheiks. The minister of Islamic endowments said that this visit embodies the unity of the Islamic nation on the path to the liberation of Jerusalem.

Hamas Minister of Islamic Endowments: This noble visit embodies the unity of the nation – Arabs and non-Arabs alike. Islamic unity means the unity of the nation and its goals, Allah willing. It means the unity of the hopes we strive to fulfill, so that we can all participate, Allah willing, in the battle for the liberation of Jerusalem and Palestine.
