Fatah Spokesman in Europe Jamal Nazzal: PLO Killed More Israeli Soldiers in Lebanon in 1982 than Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Hizbullah Killed in 30 Years

Following are excerpts from an interview with Fatah spokesman in Europe Jamal Nazzal, which aired on Al-Jazeera TV on January 25, 2011:

Jamal Nazzal: When Al-Jazeera TV was launched, I did not imagine that the Arab TV channel would become a tool for the erasing of history from the minds of the young generation. I entered Wikipedia and did a search for the words "The Lebanon war of 1982." Under "casualties," I found the following [holds up a sign with the number 675] – brother Ibrahim, you might learn something from me... This is the number of Israeli soldiers killed by the PLO forces in Lebanon in 1982.

Palestinian writer Ibrahim Hamami: He repeats the same old tune. Yeah, yeah, you were heroes...

Jamal Nazzal: 675 Israeli soldiers. There's a surprise for you. You too, Dr. Faysal. You're a researcher. You're not allowed to make a mistake. You're not here as a neutral observer. I have researched this number. I went to another website, given to me by brother Sufyan Abu Zaydeh, called: "International Institute for Counter-Terrorism" – portal.idc.as.il. I found the following...

Show moderator Faysal Al-Qassem: IL means that it's an Israeli site.

Jamal Nazzal: This number of soldiers killed by the PLO in Lebanon in 1982 is seven times the number killed by Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Hizbullah in 30 years. That was before the [PLO] treachery... I call upon all wiseguys like you to examine history. I dare you to log on to the Internet and enter Wikipedia, and then, come and tell me – the representative of a movement that has battled for 50 years...

Ibrahim Hamami: You represent the collaborators...

Jamal Nazzal: We have been firing guns for 50 years, and you call us traitors.
