Following are excerpts from a TV report about a visit by Dr. Aleida Guevara, daughter of Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara, to Lebanon, where she met with Hizbullah leaders. The report aired on Al-Manar TV on October 12, 2010:

Reporter: Dr. Aleida Guevara, daughter of the Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara, accompanied by the Cuban ambassador to Lebanon, visited the tomb of the most senior martyr of the Islamic resistance, Abbas Al-Musawi, in Al-Nabi Shayth.

She was welcomed by Hizbullah's official in the Beqa', Hajj Muhammad Yaghi, by 'Amar Al-Musawi, the official in charge of foreign relations, by a delegation of women's organizations, and by other personalities.

After placing a wreath on the tomb, Aleida Guevara said that the memory of the martyrs engenders power in the soul, and yields more determination and desire to achieve victory.

Dr. Aleida Guevara: I think that as long as their memory remains within us, we will have more strength, and that strength will grow and develop, until we make great achievements and complete our journey to certain victory.

Reporter: For his part, Hizbullah's official in the Beqa' said: We are conducting resistance for the sake of liberty and justice, and to liberate our land and people from the Zionist occupation, which receives all the aid it needs from the US administration.

The ceremony included the presentation of a commemorative shield. From there, Dr. Aleida and the delegation went to Baalbek, where the Baalbek municipality held an exceptional reception opposite the ancient fortress, a reception that included folkloric presentations.

Mayor of Baalbek, Hashem Othman: Che the hero is the symbol of Cuban resistance. We and you stand together against injustice.

Dr. Aleida Guevara: If we do not conduct resistance, we will disappear from the face of the earth. It is the only way to prevail and to continue on our path forward.
