Sudanese Ambassador to Cairo: The Darfur Issue is an Attempt to Win Zionist and African-American Votes in the Elections

#197 | 01:30
Source: Al-Majd TV (Saudi Arabia)

Sudanese Ambassador to Cairo Dr. Ahmad 'Abd Al-Halim spoke on Saudi Al-Majd TV about Darfur. The following are excerpts:

Ambassador Abd Al-Halim: The issue [of Darfur] has become a part of the agenda of the US election campaign. As you know, the previous elections were determined in court when the gap was small. Therefore, the votes of any group became important. The Zionist pressure groups, the Christian-Zionist Right, as we call it, and the African-Americans are extremely important votes. Attracting their votes has made the [Darfur] issue, which is far detached, a part of these elections.

There are some extremists in the US; not all extremists are Muslim. Some of the extremists say that before the Arabs arrived in Sudan, and before it became Muslim, it was neither Arab nor Muslim but Christian, and that it must return to what it was before.
