Girls and Women in Anti-American Protest in Yemen

Following are excerpts from a report on an anti-American protest of girls and women in Yemen. The report aired on Al-Masirah TV on September 5, 2012.

Yemeni girls: Away with humiliation! Away with humiliation!

Reporter: Children are the epitome of innocence. They insist upon a life of dignity and honor. Along with their peers, their mothers, and their sisters, they took to the streets to express their strong opposition to the blatant violations of [Yemeni] national sovereignty.

Girl: We reject American and Israeli interference in Yemeni affairs. We have come to support the Million-Man Campaign. This is a religious and a national duty.

Reporter: The girls of the Baqim district, along with their mothers and sisters, came in droves to take part in the campaign against US interference, denouncing the silence of the so-called "National Reconciliation Government." They delivered the following message: "We will stand united against you as the army of Allah."

Woman: We say to the US ambassador and to America's collaborators in Yemen: Allah willing, we are lying in wait for you. We will confront and vanquish you. We are prepared to sacrifice a lot. Allah willing, we will vanquish the US and Israel. We abide by the Koran and follow the path of Allah.

Second woman: By joining this [campaign], we stand united and do not fear anyone's reproach, regardless of the strength, the great numbers, and the might of the [enemy].

Third woman: The participation of women in the Million-Man Campaign is just one step in confronting Satan and his machinations, and exposing them to the Islamic nation.

Girl: I am participating in the Million-Man Campaign, and I reject US and foreign interference in the affairs of the Yemeni people. I say "no" to violations of Yemeni sovereignty.

Girls in unison: Allah Akbar! Death to America! Death to Israel! Curses upon the Jews! Victory for Islam!
