Rafiq Nasrallah, Director of the Lebanese International Center for Media and Research: I Support the Option of the Resistance Initiating War against Israel

Following are excerpts from an interview with Rafiq Nasrallah, director of the Lebanese International Center for Media and Research, which aired on Al- Manar TV on December 12, 2011:

Rafiq Nasrallah: It has become evident that any conflict will not be waged only on Lebanese soil. In other words, the war will not take place only in South Lebanon or Beirut, and will not be limited to us being bombed from the air. If you bombard me – I will bombard you, deep in your land, and I might even advance into your [territory]. Some may think I am exaggerating, but some of the things I have said in the past have come true… I believe that from March, and into the summer, we will be using new language.

Interviewer: Such as?

Rafiq Nasrallah: We will be talking about liberating the Golan Heights under fire. In South Lebanon, we will be talking about the future of the seven villages, not only about the Shab'a Farms. For some reason. I can see [Lebanese] fighters inside the Israeli settlements.

Reporter: It sounds as if you are suggesting that the war will be initiated by the resistance.

Rafiq Nasrallah: At some point, the resistance may choose [to initiate] a conflict. At a certain point, this may be the option, and I am for it.
