Sheik Abdelhakim Belhaj, Former Emir of Al-Qaeda-Affiliated Group and Now Commander of Libyan Rebels' Military Council in Tripoli, Celebrates Victory

Following are excerpts from statements by Sheik Abdelhakim Belhaj, commander of Libyan rebels' military council in Tripoli, who was the former emir of Al-Qaeda-affiliated Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, which aired on the Al-Jazeera network on August 23, 2011:

Abdelhakim Belhaj: Allah has granted us this great victory. We have entered the offices of the tyrant Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi. We have entered his tents, his offices, and his home. Everybody can witness the great joy over this victory. We are grateful to Allah and we pray that He bestow security and stability upon us, so that we can build our country.

We want security for our country and justice for our people. We want the justice and prosperity for which we have been calling over the past 40 or 41 years.
