Muhammad Omar Al-Mukhtar, Son of Libyan Liberator Omar Al-Mukhtar: We Supported the Revolution of the Youth

Following are excerpts from an interview with Muhammad Omar Al-Mukhtar, son of Libyan liberator Omar Al-Mukhtar, which aired on Al-Arabiya TV on Febraury 27, 2011:

Interviewer: How is the Omar Al-Mukhtar family connected to the revolution of the youth?

Muhammad Omar Al-Mukhtar: We supported the revolution of the youth. This is a blessed revolution, throughout Libya – from Musaid to Ras Al-Jadir. We wish success to this blessed revolution.

Interviewer: How do you take part in this revolution, and what do you say to the youth?

Muhammad Omar Al-Mukhtar: We encourage the youth to carry out the revolution. We stand beside the youth in this revolution. I went to meet them a few days ago. May this be a blessed revolution, Allah wiling. May it progress, Allah willing.

Interviewer: We've heard demands to shift the capitol from Tripoli. What is your opinion?

Muhammad Omar Al-Mukhtar: What?!

Interviewer: Shifting the capital from Tripoli to Benghazi, and reaching a two-state solution...

Muhammad Omar Al-Mukhtar: No, Tripoli is the capital, and Libya is one. The Libyan people is one nation.
