Former Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Sheikholislam: "If Not for Hizbullah, the Americans Would Have Attacked Bushehr 100 Times by Now"

The following are excerpts from an interview with former Iranian deputy foreign minister Hossein Sheikholislam, which aired on IRINN (the Iranian News Channel) on September 2, 2010.

Interviewer: Are we paying a price internationally for supporting the Palestinians? Are we under pressure partly because of our support of the Palestinians? Is this in line with our national interests?

Hossein Sheikholislam: The Palestinians are fighting for our sake. They are fighting for our cause. How come we do not ask whether Hizbullah is fighting for our sake? If not Hizbullah, the Americans would have attacked Bushehr 100 times by now. The Israelis would have attacked Bushehr 100 times by now.
