is chairman of various UN committees and initiatives, including the
United Nations Global Alliance for ICT and Development (since 2009).
Following
are excerpts from the interview, which aired on July 14, 2010.
Talal Abu Ghazaleh:
[9/11] was not an Islamic operation, or Islamic terrorism. It was carried
out by the Taliban. In this day and age, Zionist power controls the
decision-making centers. I always say that just like us Arabs, the US
is a victim of Zionist influence, which often – if not always –
steers US decisions against American interests, and in keeping with
Zionist interests at all times.

This was an isolated
incident, carried out by a group called the Taliban. It so happened
that this incident evolved into “Islamic terrorism” and “Arab
terrorism”...
Interviewer: And
into global terrorism...
Talal Abu Ghazaleh:
Right, and into “the war against terror.” The entire language was
distorted to make us talk about a “war against terror.” A war is
waged between two forces, two armies, two countries, two gangs. Who
is the other side in the case of this war on terror? They had to create
an enemy in order to fight it, and to have justice on their side, when
they talk of the war on terror.
Hence, global Zionism
created the notion of an enemy called “the terrorist Islam.” How
come we do not talk about “Catholic terrorism,” in the case of the
war in Ireland? No one bothered to mention that these terrorist movements
were catholic. How come we do not mention the religion of ETA in Spain
and Europe?
Only in the case of the
Taliban is religion attached to [the movement]. This is an exception
to what has been the rule throughout history. An accusation is leveled
against a group that is the enemy of Zionism – because Zionism itself
is the enemy of this group – and I refer to the Arab and Islamic nation.
Therefore, to put it
in an historical context, Zionism, which has been plotting all this
time, came across an historic opportunity, and convinced the US administration
that this was an opportunity for it as well.
This is how it all began.
This is how the war began. Now, the research centers – albeit quietly
and in secret – realize that the US sank into this quagmire, as a
result of the Jewish hatred for Americans. Whoever thinks otherwise
– believing that the Zionist enemy loves America, and acts in its
best interests – is wrong.

All the consequences
of 9/11, as well as the preparations leading up to 9/11...
Interviewer: It
had all been “cooked up”...
Talal Abu Ghazaleh:
Exactly. It was all colonialist-and Zionist-made.
