The following are excerpts from a Friday sermon delivered in Doha, which aired on Qatar TV on July 17, 2009.

Preacher: The land of Palestine is blessed and sacred in the eyes of all religions, but the distorted Judaism is claiming it for itself. The [Jews] say that Jerusalem belongs to them, and that it is their religious heritage, which they cannot give up. In their distorted Torah, God said to Israel: "To your seed I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the Great River," which is the Euphrates. These are the borders they would like for their state – and they allude to these [rivers] with the two blue stripes on their flag.

For them, it is a matter of religion, on which they cannot compromise, even if they conceal it with peace initiatives, whenever they are gripped by fear, are in the throes of some catastrophe, or are trying to pull the wool over someone's eyes. They should be awarded no protection or security. Treachery is in their nature, betrayal is in their character, and deception has been their way since ancient times.

As for the Crusades – despite its great differences with Judaism, and its accusations that the Jews killed Jesus, the fundamentalist Crusaders believe that the Jews have a right to Palestine, and that Jesus, son of Miriam, will be resurrected in Palestine, and will lead them to victory over the infidels, by which they mean the Muslims. They believe that the establishment of the state of Israel is a prerequisite for the resurrection of Christ.

This accounts for the Crusader positions, which are always biased toward that foundling Jewish state, from when they helped to establish it and to this day. They act, first and foremost, out of religious belief, and out of the hatred that they inherited from the Crusades.
