Lebanese Shi'ite Cleric Muhammad Ali Al-Husseini: Iran will Sell Nasrallah Out When It Has Finished Using Him

In a recent TV interview, Lebanese Shi'ite cleric Sheikh Muhammad Ali Al-Huisseini criticized the Iranian regime and called on Hassan Nasrallah not to "serve as a dagger in the heart of the Arab nation." "Why should we, in Lebanon, pay the price for what Hassan Nasrallah has done?" asked Al-Husseini, who is secretary-general of the Arab Islamic Council. "Once [the Iranian regime] has finished using him, it will sell him out, just like that." The Sky News Arabia interview aired on April 15, 2016.

Following are excerpts

Muhammad Ali Al-Husseini: "What drives me today is not the defense of Shia or Arab identity, but defense of Islam. Some wish to make Islam a terrorist religion, to make people fear it.

[...]

"The Islam I want to defend is the true Islam, which does not distinguish between Sunnis and Shi'ites. This is the Islam that has given rise to equality, openness, and moderation. We, the Shi'ite Arabs in particular, have nothing to do with the heretical doctrine [of the Rule of the Jurisprudent], which has been imposed upon the Shi'ite tenets and ideological system. Moreover, the Iranian people itself has rejected the Rule of the Jurisprudent. The Iranian people took to the streets, especially in what is known as the Green Revolution. The Iranian people, as a whole, challenged the regime of the Rule of the Jurisprudent, and called for a referendum in order to determine if this is what all the Iranians want.

[...]

"We, as Shi'ite Arabs, are connected to our countries [and not to Iran]. We are not foreigners in our countries. The Rule of the Jurisprudent regime strives to drive a wedge between Shi'ite Arabs and their countries, so that they will have dual loyalty, or absolute loyalty to the Rule of the Jurisprudent. Herein lies the danger.

[...]

"If the Rule of the Jurisprudent regime collapses today, our Arab countries, and the whole world, will live in peace and security. They say that their actions in Syria are 'on the path to Jerusalem.' When they interfere in Yemen, they say it is 'on the path to Jerusalem.' If they carry out terror attacks, God forbid, in the UAE, Kuwait, or Saudi Arabia, or in any country that Iran wants to be led by Hizbullah, they say that it is 'on the path to Jerusalem.'

[...]

"Hassan Nasrallah's place is alongside his Arab brothers. He should support them, rather than abandon them. He must not serve as a dagger in the heart of the Arab nation.

[...]

"Why should we, in Lebanon, pay the price for what Hassan Nasrallah has done? This is due to all that he has done in the service of the Rule of the Jurisprudent regime, which will eventually sell him out. Once it has finished using him, it will sell him out, just like that."
