Following are excerpts from an interview with Muhammad Dabbah, secretary-general of the Palestinian Communist Party, which aired on Al-Jazeera TV on July 30, 2010:
Muhammad Dabbah: We must learn from what happened in 1936, 1947, and in 1948. The principal enemy of our people and our masses was and continues to be the filthy, criminal, despicable US and British imperialism, [which harms] our people and our nation. This is the truth. Many resolutions were passed by the UN regarding the rights of the refugees and the withdrawal. Who is thwarting their implementations? Us?! It is America, which is the head of the serpent of this exploitative world order. I'm just expressing my own opinion.
Voice in the crowd: We agree.
Muhammad Dabbah: Of course you do. What I'm saying is true. And another thing – the Zionist movement is one of the most racist movements in the whole world, and it exists only because it is protected by American and non-American imperialism. The movement relies upon the crutches of the reactionary [rulers] of this region, who have formed the unholy trinity, which caused the Nakba of our people, and who are the reason that we have not reached a just, viable peace, and the right to self-determination.
