Iranian Music Video: Peaceful Nuclear Energy, an Armed Persian Gulf Is Our Right

In a music video posted on the Internet on July 14, 2015, Iranian performer Amir Tataloo sings: "It is our absolute right to have an armed Persian Gulf" and calls for "peaceful nuclear energy for everyone." The video, titled "Energy Hasteei" ("Nuclear Energy"), which includes English subtitles, is filmed in part on a naval vessel, and in the final screen, various units of the Iranian army and navy are thanked.

Tataloo: If it’s bad, then it’s bad for you too! But if it’s good, it should be for all. If it’s about peace, then this is my only intention. I am an honest Iranian that is against all violence. But if it’s gonna be by force then I stay in this path with all my being. Rain and pureness comes from the sky, but hurricane, lightning and hailing comes from the same place too. Fire can either burn you or warm you up. You can either drone [sic] in water or it can save you from dying from thirst. Positive and negative is necessary and it’s both in our blood. A firearm can either kill you or make your homeland safe. This is our absolute right to have an armed Persian gulf. This is our absolute right to have an armed Persian gulf. I’m not a math or geometry teacher. No, I’m not involved in political games. No, I don’t know what’s going on in this country. No, I don’t know when who attacked whom or where! But I know there’s a scent of exhaustion and everything needs a core power. If you are not being strong and protecting your territory, then every close-minded could leak through. Something like a father to a family, like a frown after a smile, like clouds that is like a ceiling for sky and rain. If there was no lightning they would destroy the sky. Like a cop with a baton for a thief, there needs to be a protection for a bad day. A power to put us ahead. Something like “Nano Tech” to make medicine. This is our absolute right to have an armed Persian gulf. This is our absolute right to have an armed Persian gulf. Silence is for statues. This is our absolute right to have an armed Persian gulf. Silence is for statues.
