In a November 19, 2014 interview with the Palestinian Authority's Al-Awda TV, Fatah Central Committee member Amal Hamad said: "It was only natural that the outcome of all that has happened would be the operation that we witnessed yesterday."

Amal Hamad: Palestinians were prevented from praying in the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The boy Muhammad Abu Khdeir was burned alive. The Holocaust that they have been going on and on about for so many years… The burning of Muhammad Abu Khdeir was a violation of all norms and values, and was worse than the Holocaust they are talking about.

Today, they have started to arm the settlers. Thus, the Israeli leadership is legitimizing the killing of Palestinians. It was only natural that the outcome of all that has happened would be the operation that we witnessed yesterday. People face daily killings and arrests, and are prevented from praying at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. All these systematic acts by Netanyahu… This all done by the direct orders of Israeli PM Netanyahu, and the natural outcome is the targeting of some settlers that we say yesterday.
