Syrian Political Scientist Jamal Al-Mahmoud Calls upon Iran to Mobilize Shiites in Saudi Arabia, and States: The Syrian Army Should "Use Violence against These Armed Groups and Finish Them Off"

Following are excerpts from an interview with Jamal Al-Mahmoud, a professor of political science at Damascus University, which aired on Al-Dunya TV on November 12, 2011:

Jamal Al-Mahmoud: We are experiencing a major crisis, which threatens Syria. I demand the use of force today. Not tomorrow, today! This is because I expect an escalation in the activities of the armed gangs, in the cities of Homs and Idlib. This is my prediction.

Interviewer: I've heard that it has already begun.

Jamal Al-Mahmoud: I demand that the political leadership in Syria strike back twice as hard. I call upon the Syrian Arab army to deliver a crowning blow in Homs and Idlib. Rest assured that the world always aligns itself with the strong. If the Syrian Arab army imposes its complete control over Homs and Idlib, I am convinced that the Arab countries, which are a tool in the hands of the Americans, will back down from their position.

[…]

Let me reiterate. I call upon the army to use force… Brother, I call them to use violence against these armed groups, and finish them off.

[….]

From here, I call upon Iran to take a decisive stand against the Saudi regime, and if they can, they should mobilize the Suadi [Shiites] in Qatif and elsewhere…

Interviewer: That's going too far…

Jamal Al-Mahmoud: Why not? It's a war.
